It's looking likely that we're going to be getting 6 players more frequently at my family game group, so I'm looking out for suitable 6 player games I can add to my collection.

I played a 3 player game of Cartagena a few days ago, and like it a lot. It says it playes up to 5 players, but I can't see any reason why it couldn't play six.

Has anyone tried this out? Is there anyone who has played this a lot who could offer some advice?

Many thanks.

I've played with 6. Just give each person 5 pirates instead of 6. That way you have the same total number of pirates.

Edit: We borrowed some black meeples from Carcasonne for the 6th player.

Ooh, good idea, that would fix the overcrowding.

I have tried this, and it works fine. I'd love to find some pirate meeples cut to the same specification as the ones in Cartagena but can't find any. Do they exist? Does anyone know where they are available from?

Otherwise, the ones from Carcassonne work fine.

I have used 5 of these in black:

They are not exactly the same, but close enough.
