Does anyone know of a good app for playing Go on a SMARTboard? Or some free software for playing Go for two players on one computer? I host an after-school Go Club.

You can use CGoban, the client from KGS, in offline mode. It's excellent,
and the advantage is you can segue cleanly into playing networked games.

Yeah, CGoban is good. It also provides lots of tools for setting up positions, marking stones, trying different branches of play etc. (so good for teaching).

I've created a app for playing go in 3D (so you can move the 'camera' around the board), based on the GNUGo engine.
Hmmm, do you think that's something I could upload to the files section on BGG?

What's funny is that I didn't recommend cgoban when I saw this question, because I didn't know what a smart board was!

But if cgoban works on one, then that's great.

I'll have to find a way to try it out. There are some major firewall issues, so I can't just do it the "easy" way.

I realize this is an old thread, but I actually created a Go board using the SmartNotebook software. If you would like a copy to use on a smart board, please PM me. I will also try to get it posted to the files section.
