Here is a challenge for you all.

I have stumbled across a board for a game.
Just the board, no pieces, no rules, no box.
The game is called CAMPAIGN.
No, it is NOT the Waddingtons Napoleonic game.
This is much, much older.

This game has the following information on it:

"CAMPAIGN"
The most fascinating parlour game of the century.
A game which will enthrall adults as well as young people.
Again and again you'll play "CAMPAIGN".

Here are some pictures of the mystery board:

Searches on t'internet have brought up no background.

Sooooo... any guesses? Geek gold offered for good info!

Also: is there a forum for listing items like this - a sort of "lost+found" forum?

Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized.

You got me stumped. You may want to contact the owners of the game closet websites (such as www.darwinsgamecloset.com). They may have come across something like that and can give you info on what it might be worth.

Thanks for the pointer... checked, but no joy there. I reckon if anyone can ID this game, they will be on the 'geek. I thought I was pretty well up on most UK games, but this one is totally new to me - no indicator of manufacturer or anything. The value is not important - I'm more interested in finding out out the game!

MYSTERY SOLVED!

The board is from a 1940's game published by Wills & Hepworth Ltd! A copy has shown up on UK e-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Campaign-board-game-1940s-no-outer-box...

Bit pricey for what it is, considering there is no box with it!

Many thanks to everyone who helped with this.
