I bought a used copy of the Hasbro set and have been really enjoying it. Unfortunately, I just read the rule book for the new Ragnar Brothers version and was intrigued by some of the changes. I especially like the way you select your civ, pay for events and the overrun mechanic.

Has anyone tried incorporating some of these changes with their old copies? (I spent quite a bit on the old copy and don't want to rush out to replace it with a new version)
