wow. The ewoks were hippies too! No wonder they live in the Northern California redwoods... I didn't even bother to check if it was canon. HA! That makes it so much more goofy. Well, if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with. Celebrate the love. Tonight, I celebrate my love for you.
I think that all right-thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am.
That's it, George. F&*k it, I'm out. Episode IV and V are now the only two that I will now consider canon.
As much as I prefer the "original" versions of episodes 4-6, I'm afraid I have to go with the "enhanced" version of #6 for the simple reason that the lyrics to this song have been replaced by some generic "Ahhhh" sounds. I hate that the original Anakin-ghost was replaced by the young kid, but I can live with it if it keeps me from having to listen to the "Ewok Tabernacle Choir sing Yanni" again.
Please, please, please tell me that those subtitles aren't canon.
...after watching this, I have to wonder...what, EXACTLY, is the problem with the subtitles?
I mean, the Ewoks are a barely-civilized, not-really-developed species. They can build simple tools and structures (not even bronze age, from appearances). Do you REALLY expect them to have more fully formed concepts than "Hurray, we have freedom!" or "We got power!"?
For all appearances, they are, in intelligence/social development, somewhere between apes and humans. Capable of simple ideas/expressions such as "I'm hungry" or "I won a fight" or "I am being treated badly", and with a rudimentary language (heck, something like half of C-3P0's communication with them was via sound effects rather than dialog - and what dialog he had was very brief and terse, likely just expressing state-of-being or simple emotions - "Do this", "I'm angry", "Luke was scared", "Vader was evil", etc).
Personally, I think the dialog fits what we can deduce of the species just fine.
