Match #5 - Juno Beach

1st half
Steve(Axis) 3 vs Daniel(Allies) 6

Allies put a good effort on keep challenging the middle bunker and eventually took him out after three turns. German actually had a big chance of hitting the invander, but couple of lousy 3d rolls wasted some good opportunities.

German held the line pretty well and reduced three Allied units to 1-fig until the Allies played Air Power and ordered a P40 from behind and started strafing the artillery. Even though they didn't buy a hit in two turns, they kept drawing the center cards and avoid the 1d air check and finally score a hit on the artillery. Meanwhile, the group of 3 infantries and a tank have started their progress on the Allies right side and succesfully pushed back the defenders to the back.

After securing an objective, Allies played Firefight and took out another unit to lead 4-2. German killed off a 1-fig unit, but the tank charge secured a bridge for another medal and roll 2d to the 1-fig artillery and score a kill!

After taking out the arty, practically German has no attacking power left, so they played the last TFH, and only 1 INF shown up, they pressed forward to kill off a 2-fig infantry but failed to do so. Allies countered the card, ordered 4 units, and took out the last remaining infantry at the left town for a 6-3 victory.


2nd half
Steve(Allies) 6 vs Daniel(Axis) 2

Allies started with several section cards and a Barrage. They began the game by targeting the German bunker and rolled 3 hits. However, German countered the card and put another 3 hits to Allies infantry. In the next turn, Allies retreated the weakened unit to the back and started to attack the bunker, and eventually took him out.

German played BEL, ordered an infantry to hit from a distant, fearing the Ambush card, scored 1 hit, and they retook the middle bunker. Allies thought that German might have a bunch of center cards. Allies played the Firefight which they had drawn in the prior turn and succesfully cleared the bunker again for a 2-0 lead.

Meanwhile, the German played Air Power while having two Air Sorties (one card was drawn in the beginning of the game) on the table, and strafed a 1-fig unit for a medal. Looks like the Luftwaffe was controlling the skies, Allies put a major quick offensive from both flanks. The left attack reduced a German infantry to 1-fig while the right attack took an objective and killed off another infantry to wipe out the German left flank.

With two tanks ready to secure the objective, German played 1-1-1 in hoping to roll a flag against a tank to push him back and bought them some time, but a roll of INF failed them as the Allies quickly played Attack-3 Right and occupied both objectives for a 6-2 win.

Allies was equipped with several big cards such as Barrage,DHQ,Assault cards,2-2-2, and Counter Attack, and also blessed with decent rolls, while the German was struggling for hits as the dicegod wasn't on their side that day.


Steve won the match by 9 - 8
