Just learning this game, so please bare with me.

Example 1:
If a plane flies from Australia to French Indonesia/ sea zone 35 via sea zone 38, East Indies/ sea zone 37, how many move is this? 3 or 4?

Example 2:
If a plane flies from Germany to Eastern United States/ sea zone 10 via Western Europe/ sea zone 7, sea zone 8 and sea zone 9 how many moves is this? 4 or 6?

Example 3:
If a plane if flying over sea zone 10 and the Eastern United States has an anti-aircraft gun, does the AA gun fire on the plane? Or does the plane bypass the AA gun?

Each time a unit crosses a boundary between spaces, whether land or sea, it uses one movement point. In your example, the plane would use one movement point to move from Australia to sea zone 38, another to move from sea zone 38 to sea zone 37, another to move from sea zone 37 to sea zone 36, and another to move from sea zone 36 to French Indochina, for a total of four. The plane would not have to actually enter East Indies, as it is just passing through the sea zone.

If the plane were to enter East Indies, to attack it for instance, it would use one movement point to enter the island and another to move back into the sea zone (after the attack).

Six.

AA guns only fire when air units pass over the territory containing them. They never fire into sea zones.

So just to clarify in example 1, to attack French Indochina from Australia going on this flight path would consume 5 moves, including the one movement point after the attack?

And the attacking aircraft could land on an allied carrier in sz 36? Totalling 5 moves from Australia?

Hence does this mean if I attacked the East Indies from Australia that would be 3 moves then 1 more to land (if an empty carrier was in sz 37 giving a total of 4 moves?

Yes.

It is five movement points, but you wouldn't be able to legally make this move unless you have the Long Range Aircraft Weapons Development, as fighters may ordinarily move only four spaces and bombers may not land on carriers.
