O.K., I need a game for six people, easy to very easy difficulty required.

- Must support 6
- 30-45 min playing time.
- Outdoorsy theme preferable (hunting, fishing)

Help me out here geeks.

Easy to teach and learn, less than an hour and it takes place on the seas. Not exactly fishing or hunting, but it's outdoors.
And it plays 6 of course.

Hmm... six player game with playing time of little more than half an hour - yep, that narrows it down a lot.

Only things I can think of right now are Guillotine and Bohnanza (needs expansion for 6, IIRC).

Not quite the theme you are looking for, but Citadels would fit and non/casual gamers usually love it, ad well ad there being something there for gamers.

But there's no way you're going to play Bohnanza in 30 minutes unless you shorten things by cutting down on reshuffles, which changes strategy somewhat. Maybe 45 minutes would work, but our games always seem to run over an hour. It would depend a lot on whether the group is experienced or not. While the game is very simple at heart, the sequence of play is unintuitive. Everybody I teach it to plays very slowly for the first 5-10 rounds until they get used to it. I'm sure a regular group could blaze through in 45 minutes. But if those 5 other people are always different, I'd choose something else.

It's a great game for a crowd, though. There's essentially no downtime since there are always trade opportunities coming up, and that's an issue with a lot of big games. But I'm not sure it's "outdoorsy" enough.

Also, the current version supports 2-7p out of the box - no expansions required.

Igloo Pop might work if you accept the loose fishing connection. :-)

What about Unnamed Object? It accommodates up to eight, it is very easy to learn, and it has an exploration/adventurous theme. The only drawback is that it plays quicker than 30-45 minutes. I thought I would throw it out there though...

There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.

Hmmm, it's that 6 player requirement that's the catch... I thought of a few but they were all 4-5 players.

How about Eketorp?
Straightforward rules (but enough going on to make things interesting).
Plays 6.
45 minutes.
Theme is vikings attacking each other and building forts... well... it is outdoors!

Gulo Gulo is very easy, and it's about baby wolverines and vultures.
Pick Picknic, if you consider farms outdoorsy.
Saboteur, if you consider mining outdoorsy.
Formula D, if you consider racetracks outdoorsy.

Saboteur. OK. Not outdoorsey but certainly fills the other criteria. And it's small and cheap.

For Sale or Pickomino perhaps? There is plenty of nature on the cards of For Sale, and worms are usually found outside. Or Leader 1? Biking is outdoors!

And Citadels would not play in 45 mins with 6 players. No way.

Powerboats fits your requirements...

plays 2-6
Playing time on the box is 60 minutes but one heat is only 20 minutes
rules can be explained in less then 5 minutes
great components
theme: powerboat racing...and we all know that it wouldn't be wise to do that indoors

How about Lifeboats?

Plays 3-6
Box says 90 minutes, this is mad, more like 45-60.
Rowing boats away from a sinking ship is pretty "outdoorsy"...

NB: It is essential to reintroduce the original "talking-stick" rule from the German version: while the current First Player is holding aloft the FP marker, players are permitted to negotiate. As soon as the FP marker is put down on the table everyone must vote, immediately. Speeds the game and increases tension.

Lifeboats could annoy non-gamers who can't take backstabbing all in good fun.

Tsuro is not outdoorsy, but fits all other requirements.
