Pound for pound, the amoeba is the most vicious predator on Earth!

Inspired by Jack's thread: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/452004, I would like suggestions on fleshing out my wishlist for Secret Santa this year. I am in the "unfortunate" situation of having bought most of the games I want. The ones I do want are either not out yet or very difficult to acquire, so I would welcome suggestions of games that I may have not heard of or seen and overlooked.

Yes, these do look familiar.

I will probably be trying Acquire out tomorrow.

Whoa, you haven't played Acquire yet, Jesse? It's a really good light stock game. You'll feel a little deja vu after just playing Stephenson's Rocket (although I think SR is superior to Acquire).

I'm still a bit surprised that you aren't that interested in Imperial.

I am amused that all those who have responded so far are people I know personally and saw on Saturday.

I found Imperial to be fine, but it did not have a lot to make it stand out from other stock games I have played. Maybe I need to play it again.

Your game log doesn't indicate whether you used the Investor Card on your lone play of Imperial. I strongly recommend you try a couple of games without the IC before you disregard it. It's quite a fluid game, with a wealth of strategies available to boost your own investments and trash your opponents' investments. I think you'd like it!

I think we used it, but it was almost a year ago, so I don't remember much about it beyond thinking that Chicago Express was similar enough and better enough for it to not be worth the effort to investigate further.

Yeah I have played it some vs. both people and the AI and I have no real interest in playing it again.

I think you said you hated it. Which was why I put it on there as a joke.

Well, hate is such a strong word... I could say that it is definitely one of my least favorite games ever.

I also was sure we had spoken about it before, but decided I had better not assume. Apparently that assumption was correct!

Well, I'm gonna post what I said on another forum
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/4059405

Quote:
I learn about games by using different methods.

- GeekModding
- Going through my Geekbuddies' lists (own, wants, wishes)
- Go through others lists (including the Admins, they rock)

I have currently over a 100 games on my list, and they range all over the place. And it will grow. I hope that this helps.

Yeah, I do all that. I was hoping people could point out games I had overlooked otherwise.
