I have adopted the rules and gameplay of the basic Werewolf version to highlight important atmospheric dynamics occurring between ozone and CFCs to high school students. This examines the interaction between ozone,CFCs and scientists and try to identify and reduce the destructive effects of CFCs.
In this variant: Teacher becomes "moderator" 7-12 students become ozone molecules aka "villagers" 2-3 students become CFC molecules aka "werewolves" 1-2 students become Scientists aka "seers"
Needless to say the game is fun and students learn the interactions occurring very quickly.
I'm in the process of developing a similar werewolf based game dynamic that simulates the basic dynamics of the enhanced greenhouse effect.
