In my so far small collection of games it seems that just about half of the games I own are pure two player. I try to aim for it since I mostly play games with my brother or father-in-law and only occasionally with more people.
Apart from pure two-player games, I guess a 2-4 player, well-scaling kind of game would be the ultimate choice. Much like, T&E or Samurai or such.
So, rougly how big part of your collections out there are two player games only? What are your thoughts on that?
I have 18 games that are two players only, and if expansions are not counted I have about 70 games which means a little over a fourth of my games are two player only games. Since most of the games I play are with my wife, we intentionally seek out 2 player games. With the exception of the odd party game, we only consider getting games if they can be played with 2 players.

I would guess I have similar number to Sean and for similar reasons. I find a lot of 2 -4 or more person games can be great games and very tactical with 2 people, and are more of a luck game with more people. Carcassonne for example, wonderful game, I feel best played with 2 people, but I still really enjoy it with 3 or 4, 5 gets into a lot of down time.

I think I missed one somewhere, but I have not gone back to check. Also some of these player counts are technical only. I would never play with some of them.

I think that does it. I was surprised by the number of two-player only games. There are a couple of expansions in there, though, and two games I'd be happy to part with.

I was suppressed at how many were 2-4 I own. It was the most common by far.
My average range worked out to 2.17 to 5.73
12.5% are two player only, goes to 13.2% if you include 1-2 player games.
Marbles doesn't say how many players it will support.
