Looking at the rating of Agricola and Puerto Rico we could see that their average ratings are the same at 8.32. However the geek rating of the former is 8.25 and the later is 8.23. Is the geek rating still calculated by the Baysesian average? Since there are around 6000 less ratings for Agricola I think it should be more affected by the addition of 100 dummy ratings. What am I doing wrong?

Agricola (2007)... 8.25 8.32
Puerto Rico (2002) 8.23 8.32

You don't know Aldie's patented "Shillbuster" algorithm...

Edit: If you look at the ratings for both games you'll see:

Agricola

1 - 68
10 - 2543

Puerto Rico

1 - 52
10 - 3506

Aldie's algorithm tries to eliminate any "outliers" who have given low or high ratings. This is probably resulting in the slight Agricola advantage.

I forgot about the shillbuster.

He probably makes correction only for the geek rating, not the average, right?
