As per note on consim press website, they are no longer pursuing any publishing efforts. If so then who will publish this game? That play test map looks quite good, implying perhaps that it is far along.

Got a response from John Kranz via email, to wit:

"Consim Press is not actively pursuing publishing projects at this time and I'm sorry to say that Ides has not yet found a new home with a new game publisher (yet). I suspect it will find a home soon, though."

I haven't approached any publishers as of this writing and none have approached me so far.

I have a number of other designs that have taken up my time so have not actively marketed Ides to anyone. This will hopefully change soon and then I will become more active in marketing this design.

Ides is one of my personal favorites and I do believe that it would be a definite asset to CDGs and the wargame community in general.

Regards,

JBF

Aside from a specific historical period which has not been gamed as a CDG before, there is also a lack of dedicated 3 player CDGs and war games in general. So I do believe a market would exist for this game.

John if you need play-testers I would be available.

It's definitely one game that I'm looking forward to.

Ever since I read an interview of John about his games projects, just before the release of Spartacus I think.

Thanks guys!

Nothing new to report. Unless some game company approaches me on this, my review of the game is low on my "to-do" list.

BTW, it is a complete game but the design was a good 10 years ago so I would have to review bedore sending to a publisher.

Its a competitive world out there but I would like to see this title. I have enjoyed Columbia's Julius Caesar, this one would be a more involved version. The three players option though is tricky to pull off well. I've been playing a lot of three player games lately, most recently Triumph and Tragedy. If you need play testers for this one let me know.
