Wow, the last couple weeks have been really nice. No one has insulted me instead of responding to what I've said. No verbal attacks. No rediculous flame-wars. People are making great comments and the posts have been interesting. Just a bunch of people discussing things. No one thinks they are the second coming of Christ. No people making rediculous statements, who refuse to admit they are wrong. Am I imagining it or is RSP becoming really nice?

I think RSP is starting to fulfill it's intended purpose, frustrating the Trolls into leaving BGG. I mean you can only be stuck in a back room of the forums with D.W.Tripp for so long before you just get frustrated and leave. And I get a kick out of the people who really take RSP seriously. It's like enjoying detention hall.

Just pretend this is irate and ignore the thumb I gave you. I'll be taking it away presently. The thumb has as much value as a Nobel Peace prize anyway. whistle

Could you possibly be more disingenuous? I don't understand how you can come here with such a pathetic argument and sad grammar.

I haven't noticed any difference Ben. Pretty much anything I post still causes Google response times to slow measurably as my followers scurry madly off to find blog posts, made-up facts and twisted re-interpretations of reality to snipe at me with.

Did you know the war in Iraq cost us $4 Trillion? It's true, so long as you take into account everything that's been spent on the military since 1776 in order to build it to it's present state. Well, then you have to add in the freight costs of transporting all those X-Box 360's to the Mideast.

I'm happy that people are being nice to you though.

Those are lifecycle costs. As a bean counter, I'm very familiar with the reasoning used to reach those figures. If you hire a new employee. You have to pay a salary and benefits but thats not all you pay for. They might need a phone, computer or even a firearm. The costs to purchase and maintain those items are part of the lifecycle costs for that employee. If you account for all those incedentals, you have the true cost of hiring that employee. That allows you to do better planning.

If all your posts were this boring, I'd stalk and ridicule you mercilessly, just on principle.

99.9999% of the time, the wargaming Forums bore me to tears.

"Hey- anyone know a good game about the Battle of the Bulge?"

"Man, I hate CRT's. Buckets o'dice/chit pull/cards/chess is SOO much better!"

"Is luck 'REAL'?"

gulp

BO-RING.

However, recently, they've been wandering dangerously close to a discussion of the relationship of Aesthetics to (war)Games, so I've been dabbling there. And I have got another thread on the linguistic turn and History, but that was on my other machine which has blown up. I need to get out the hard drive so I can recover that..it took me long enough to write....

No, 'Fraid you're stuck with me here in RSP. Better or worse, this is the best conversation on the Geek.

Just don't tell anyone.

Umm Dar? One can play wargames without ever visiting the fora, don't you know?
