Hi, beginner's question: On page 23 of the rulebook, section "Peril Cards", it says "A perilous location is defined as any permanently perilous location (illustrated with the peril frame), or..."

What is the peril frame? I looked on the map but couldn't find anything. A few locations are always perilous? The strongholds?

Thanks very much!

Jim.

The symbol for a permanently perilous location looks like sharp spikes sticking out of the location. The permanently perilous locations are:

Ruins of Angmar
Mount Gundabad
Moria
Dol Guldur
Barad-Dur

They also have a downward-pointing sword through the region gem.

Angmar and other Permanently Perilous places that aren't Shadow strongholds can have influence removed from them, yes?

Yes, although the hero might not actually enjoy his stay there.
