Winter cold space. Hulk!
Adrift, all our Genes stolen.
Blood Angels revenge!

Inspired by the Thoughthammer Contest and the RoboRally limerick review.

Edit: changed subject of thread (replaced review with feelings).

a praising comment.

I first submitted it as a review, but it was declined with the comment 'No funny reviews'. So I reposted it as general, cause I think it is something to be shared.

And: I don't see where this is funny.

Re: Boiling it down to the point: Haiku review
Just read the review
and feel the opinion flow
from the verse to you.

So let me give one possible interpretation:

Quote:
Winter cold space.

Silence, darkness, emptyness. A void that needs to be filled.

Quote:
Hulk!

Suddenly out of the darkness the ancient Space Hulk appears. Our pleads where answered by those who control the Universe from their ancient Workshop.

Quote:
Adrift,

Aimless it wanders through space, no clear target to see. Will it ever be found? So catch it if you can see it!

Quote:
all our Genes stolen.

There is something evil lurking aboard the mighty ship. It is longing for what we treasure most. Be careful if you open it!

Quote:
Blood Angels revenge!

But there is hope! The chapter of the Blood Angels seeks revenge and will cleanse the hulk from all evil in glorious battle! They will smash the hordes of Genestealers and bring hope the the galaxy. Join the Bloog Angels in their fight!

Feel free to add your own interpretation. Thats the beauty of the Haiku.

My review:

Tense halls give way to
fire, flesh, steel, hope. These moments
coalesce into joy.

You might be right with
the last here, thats why I did
honor the modders.

But what I did not
was describe the theme here.
My feelings they are.

So it's an opinion
and it's an experiment.
That way it stands here.

Right you are, Branko.
I should have changed the subject.
It's now corrected.

Another oft overlooked element is that the last line is supposed to "change" the meaning of, or make you rethink, or just alter the context of the first two lines. At least that is what my creative writing teacher taught me...

-or-

Also the last line
should re-contextualize
the two before it.

(which, I know, does NOT take the rule described into account, though I believe my first post does. Still trying to edit in a seasonal reference for that one...)

Haikus are tougher
than finding Space Hulk in Spring
Geeze, I have no life.

1 'neanderthals think' - please prove that!
2 Perhaps the neanderthaler was just ignorant! Thank you for enlightening him!
3 The Neanderthal is located just 150 km from where i live, so please do not insult my neighbours! Especially since they can not retaliate being extinct and all...

My Beautiful Wife kiss
has not worn any make-up
since our wedding day.

She gets her hairs cut
every seven months or so,
for just fifteen bucks!

(She is actually getting interviewed today for my classmate's documentary on women who don't wear make-up or otherwise buy into the media's portrayal of how women should present themselves...)

My wife went without
Make-up the other day,
They all said "Trick or treat!"

More a "Hey you" than a Haiku!
Although the syllables are right and there's a "seasonal" reference!
LOL

Sorry to nitpick
But you might recheck your math
Five-six-six is wrong.
