Look to the past and learn for the future.
Everyone is a little Irish on St. Patrick's Day, Except the Scottish, we're still Scottish. (We do love our cousins across the water though)
With Thanksgiving quickly approaching (and all the shopping nonsense). I thought it would be good to have a "giving thanks" thread. Post what you are thankful for and lets all feel the love! (feel free to post often)
I am thankful for my beautiful wife, toddler son, and infant daughter. They are my joy everyday.
I am thankful for BGG, a nice place that I can "cool down" after long days.
I am thankful that my church is putting into practice what I have tried to teach them for years and individually taking initiative to help out.
I am thankful for bacon. Seriously I love it.
No too far from Philly
...but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind,
...and reaching forth unto those things which are before,...
I am thankful for...
My very very goofy family. They keep my sanity in check.
My second family at church

+ 1 for bacon. I become like a wood chipper when that stuff is around.
Health, employment, and a home.
The good ole U.S. of A. Love ya babe.
Bring me her heart in this box.
The many hours of pleasure and the wonderful people that board gaming has brought into my life. *sniff*

"By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe."
My wife, for being the best in the world for me. I dont think its a coincidence that our wedding will mature another month every year on Thanksgiving Day.
My parents, for raising me the best they could and having the ability to say 'Hey we made a mistake' and work to rectify it. Rather than being 'Im the parent and am never wrong'. It is because of them I am the man I am today. They always supported my various hobbies they never made fun of my interests and always had the time for me whether I needed help studying, wanted to game, or just someone to talk to. They never tried to mold me into something that THEY wanted me to be. They allowed me, to be me.
For my Grandfather, for him teaching me to always be myself, no matter who makes fun or what is said. He also taught me along with my parents the value of always doing the right thing. Sometimes it sucks hard, and it hurts, and sometimes you end up eating some of your own words, but doing the right thing is better.
My Inlaws, they have accepted me lovingly into their family, they are awesome, nothing like the stereotypical in laws you see on tv and movies. They stick together and are here for us and each other. I feel truly accepted.
This extended online community family here in Chit Chat, truly I am always impressed and happy when I see someone spill their guts on a public internet forum and the people here help them and give their advice. Theres no judgement, only help and sympathy for those that need it. One could even argue that those are the ONLY threads in Chit Chat that people read or stay on topic.
My life in general, I think its easy to lose how the simple things in life used to make us happy, yet as we get older only bigger and better things make us happy. I try to live everyday and find a simple pleasure, whether its watching the autumn colors, or the cool breeze, the rain etc or even enjoying a Gas Station Slushee with my wife. Im thankful for who is in my life and what I have in it. I am truly blessed.

I am thankful for:
*My family--my husband and daughter. It is truly because of them that I am still around and a better person every day.
*My job and my husband's job - without which, life would be more difficult
*The place we live--we are truly blessed to have made the decision to move to a completely new place that is so much better in so many ways.
*My faith - without which I would not have made it past my 20's.
*BGG and especially Chit Chat--the best place to hang out with friends that love, encourage, challenge, and entertain me on a daily basis. I love you all and wish I could give you a round of HUGS and KISSES every day!!!!!!
I am NOT thankful for:
*the USPS...........GRRRRRRRRRRRR enough said--don't ask
Just call me Erik
I am thankful for (in no particular order):
My job. It doesn't pay terribly highly, but the working environment could not be better. I show up every day in a hawaiian shirt, and it's totally normal. When I take lunch, I watch youtube and my boss doesn't care.
My friends. They are all stand-up blokes.
My Fiancee. She's my best friend and the source of all of my support and most of my happiness.
My family. Especially my immediate family. They lubs me.
Boardgaming. Best hobby ever.
All you guys: Chit Chat makes me smile.
