Does this really take 3 hours to play? I am thinking about getting it, but that would be too long. Thanks

Evil lurks here!
Warning, this is a worst case scenario(pun intended)
6 players, 3 per side.
Allow all 3 players on the German side to discuss which cards to play. Have those 3 players be cautious, unexperienced, Ap prone players and you can get playtime OVER 3 hours.
Me and my 2 field generals on the other side of the table had a good time chatting to each other about life, cars and a ton of diferent subjects, while thay discussed amongst themselves, but the scenario dragged on in to boredom.
When we were about to run out of topics to discuss, my field generals decided it was time to attack the Germans that was sitting in woods, town and behind sandbags. Our troops got blasted into oblivion, but we had fun while on the attack.
We told them it dragged on and one time my right field general even discussed moving his troops north to help the Allied landing in Normandy that was going on. He tried to tell them they took too long, and we laught quite abit about it. Guess you had to be there?
This was the least successful overlord session we have had. Others have taken alot less time, but I haven't timed those. All under 2 hours at least, and that is with those same people.
But seriously, you should be able to play it in about 90 minutes, so 3 hours should be enough to play both sides.
AND stick to the rules about who and when the Commander in chief can discuss with. It cuts down on discussion time.
Both Hefgerow and Cadets are good scenarios and so are the scenarios in Tigers in the Snow.
If you are only buying one of them I would go with Tigers in The Snow. It also comes with two standard size scenarios.
And just to make it clear: Overlord is a very fun way to play Memoir and is perfectly playable 1 on 1.

Definitely Tigers (although Sword of Stal is just coming out...hmmmm)
Definitely get the M44 overlord edition with the cards (helps new players remember with the graphics built in the cards)
