I have bought some old dice that I wonder what they are for. (The images are linked to larger versions, but the large images are on my home server and take a little while to load.)

A set of five dice numbered 0-1-1-2-3-4, 0-1-2-2-3-4, 0-1-2-3-3-4, 0-1-2-3-4-4 and 0-0-1-1-4-5.

I also got these:

A set of very small (7 mm) bone dice in a wooden box. They don't have any 1 pip; instead the whole 1 side is slightly recessed. Is this typical for some time or region, or is it just a whim of the dice maker?

The first set look like Paydirt. Not sure about the second.

The first set look as if they may be from Wembley

The bottom set of dice are most likely from a Mah Jong set circa 1920's-1930's. Generally these are bone dice in a wooden box or coffin.

Yes, that's right. Older Chinese-style dice may have very large recessed one-pips with no colouring - I have one or two like that.

That looks exactly right. Thanks! (Unfortunately it seems that my set is one die short...)
