Looking through the rulebook and the FAQ I find the following:

Investigators may trade any time they are in the same
location except during combat. They may trade before,
during or after movement, which means trading does not
end a move.

They may trade Common Items, Unique Items, Money,
and Spells. They may not trade Clue tokens, Allies, and
Monster and Gate trophies.

No mention of skills, now I assume that means skills can not be traded as they are like a characters special abilities but would just like confirmation that we are playing correctly in this regard.

Thanks

No. You cannot trade skills.

Nope. Think of it like an ability in real life. can you give your clumsy friend the ability to chew gum and walk while taking an ability that he has?

Could also be considered like a real life skill like "martial arts" which can be taught which is similar to trading only it takes a longer time

Thanks for the answers, glad to see we've been playing correctly.

Right - but that would mean the "teacher" loses the ability to perform the martial arts once taught.

A real life skill? Tell that to ol' Mikey.

3rd game in and Michael McGlen started with the Expert Ocultist skill.
His base attribute is 3 Sanity for criminies sake.
I was a little irked to say the least, but not as upset as when
my 2nd skill was... EXPERT OCCULTIST!

Now I'm an expert, expert occultist? Either way there was an instant ruling that if you draw a second identical skill as useless as you have already drawn you can discard and draw another. Please feel free to speak up though on official rulings. Whatever skills I had in the end, none of them did much of anything to affect any skill checks I had & I still kicked A!

Ok, looking back on reflection it does seem to be of some value to be and expert, expert occultist. If it's the Arkham way to have doubles, then that's how I'll play next time.

Hey, Mikey could've rerolled a Spell check twice, if he failed to cast a Spell initially and with the first EO whistle .
