Any suggestions for where to get cubes to replace these tokens? We resorted to putting our player boards in the box lid and base to keep them from rolling away and onto the floor. They only place I've found is meeplepeople.com.

Once you place them, you never have to pick them up. They just slide back and forth, giving no opportunity to drop them on the floor or roll around. After the initial fumbling around to get them all flat on the table, you should be good to go.

I bought those
in Essen. You could ask CGE or Fred per email if they could sell you one pack.

You can also get small wooden cubes from a variety of places:

http://www.boardgamebits.com/store/
http://www.smartcart.com/gamedesigncentral/cgi/display.cgi?i...
http://www.rpgshop.com/accessories/cards-and-tokens/

I've been meaning to do the same thing for my set, but I doubt I'll ever get around to it. As dcorban says, once they're placed, you just have to slide them around.

Thanks for the help. I will check out those retailers. As far as just sliding them around you misunderstand the depth of the klutziness.

You could also learn German and play with the Pegasus edition, which comes with 6-sided cubes. Or just cannibalize this version for the cubes.

They're not in stock now, but Boards and Bits has some 10mm acrylic crystals that look like they would work better than those discs.

Too bad it's not available right now. But those are cool.

Edit: Quoting my own stuff is not good.

You can get those acrylic crystals from craft stores as well.
I got a bunch from Michael's to upgrade my Space Alert set.

I've seen bags of these crystals at dollar stores as well.

I brought the game & immediatly chucked the round wooden bits in the waste bin.
Then scavanged replacements from my "spare-parts" box.
Large tiddlywinks for the red/white action markers
Figures from old risk/stargate games for the yellow bits. So the grey player now has a population of "greys"
Miniature dice for the blue bits.

It's not as simple as that. You still need to pick them up once you get any techs in play.

I went to Michaels to find replacements but didn't find anything suitable, so I just live with the tiny bits.
