I'm currently looking to fill out my collection and am looking for some suggestions. Here's what I have:

Carcasonne
Puerto Rico
Bohnanza
Vegas Showdown
Ticket to Ride
Drakon
Cave Troll
Battleball
Doom + expansion
Guillotine
Funny Friends
Survive
Scarab and Minotaur Lords
Pericles
Nexus Ops
No Thanks
Gloom
Betrayal at House on The Hill

I love games with a heavy theme that doesn't seem pasted on. I adore Doom and War of the Ring but play both rather infrequently because of their length.
What I'm looking for are staples... games that are good with both casual and hard core gamers alike. I'm ordering Chaos in the Old World (love the Warhammer world and it sounds like a great game) and Santiago (I've been meaning to pick this up for a while) and would like to add a few more games to my order... suggestions?

Rush n' Crush, Fury of Dracula (second edition), and Prophecy are all themey, not too long games that seem to fit your current crop...

I'm like you. Theme is a big component of what makes a game enjoyable for me. Here are some I'd recommend:

Age of Conan
Battlestar Galactica
Descent: Journeys in the Dark (it's a really long game, but casual gamers should enjoy it)
Dominion
Middle Earth Quest
Red Dragon Inn
Runebound
Small World

Thanks guys those are some great suggestions.

Many of you mentioned Stone Age, so perhaps I should pick up a copy.

Rick- a buddy of mine has Last Night on Earth and I love it, great game.

Kelsith- all of my friends love Settlers but for some reason I can't stand it. It's one of only a handful of games I've played that I refuse to play again.

Randy-Rush n Crush looks great!

I might even suggest Race for the Galaxy. It's got an excellent theme, even though the mechanics can come across as abstract sometimes due to the excellent iconography. It plays pretty fast, though, and yet has a *huge* amount of depth and replayability.

Another might be the fully-cooperative Pandemic. Another game that plays pretty quickly and has an excellent and thorough theme (even better with the On the Brinkexpansion and petri dishes).

If a heavy theme is what your looking for I suggest Arkham Horror

And depending on how much you are willing to drop on a game. I recommend Space Hulk. I have often heard Doom being compared to this and if you like WH40k then you have a recipe for success

I haven't had a chance to play it yet but Cyclades looks pretty cool.

And for a euro with a well integrated theme (whether you like said theme is another matter entirely) you could do a lot worse than Agricola. The bonus there is that the family game can be managed by non-gamers if you've got someone who knows the rules explaining it.

If it weren't for game length I'd suggest StarCraft: The Board Game or Twilight Imperium (Third Edition) but I suspect they might push your play time limits, especially TI3.
