This is probably not the best option but it is the best option I have found so far. (I live in Nouveau Brunswick and have the same problem)

www.boardsandbits.com

The variety is great and the games are dirt cheap. The only problem is with big orders you get a high shipping charge but the amount of money you save on the games themselves makes it even out.
The difference between an American dollar and a Canadian dollar is .05 cents so exchange rate isn't an issue.

They have a factory in Ohio which is where most of your games will come from. It is the closest to the border I have found. Most good game sites seem to operate out of the south.

Bonne chance et ci tu trouve quel-que-chose meuiller, sil vous plais dis mois dans une geekmail. Pardonne ma francais. J'ai pas ecrie francais dans presque 5 annes.

Try Aux Jeux on St. Jean on the West Island (514.620.9111). Prices are the best in town, as far as I know. Tell the owner Peter that I recommended his store.

I think it would have to be a very special game, that I would be willing to pay shipping from the States.

I've had great success and satisfaction with these Canadian online retailers. They also have reasonable flatrate shipping.

www.fungamescafe.com Mississauga, ON
www.germangames.com Kitchener, ON
www.meeplemart.com Toronto, ON
www.hitboardgames.com Ottawa, ON

Good luck!

If you are in Montreal then you should have a look at

http://espacejeux.canalblog.com/

It's not a store per se but you can order a decent selection of recent games for a good price and pick them up. Reading french is required.

For new or used games you should also have a look at the Dragons Nocturnes and especially their forum where Montreal gamers regularly list their games for sale. And there is also a subforum with a list of current local deals.

http://www.dragonsnocturnes.org/

You can also have a look at the Toys and Games sections of Craiglist or Kijiji in Montreal. I've had several interesting deals in the past.

Ordering online can be interesting at the websites others listed before me but you have to make a big order to make it worth your money. If you buy only one game at a time, shipping will kill most deals for you.

Thrifting at Value Village or other thrift stores can also get you some good games for cheap but you have to be patient for the good deals to appear and go there regularly.

As for Agricola, i've recently seen copies of the game for 40-50% off (Around 50$ with taxes if i remember well) at the Indigo bookstore downtown. Might be worth to have a look and see if it's still there.

Hope it helps !
