This is a play variation that requires skills in more than just plain X610Z play, it also requires bluffing and advanced knowledge of statistics. It's a combination of Poker and X610Z.
At the heart of Poker Existenz lie points. Points are a quantity a player has that can be exchanged anytime you could play a card for a powerful effect. Points are represented by Poker chips. In team play each player has his/her own chips which cannot be shared with teammates.
Here's a basic set of effects which points can be used for. It needs playtesting and balancing.
Target player takes a turn after his current one. It must currently be target player's turn. (1000 Points)
Target player draws a card. (500 Points)
Target player cannot attack this turn. (300 Points)
Target Summon gets +1/-1 Speed. (300 Points)
Target Summon gets 1 Heal Defense (100 Points)
At the start of the game as well as after each full round of turns plus 1 turn the game is interrupted. During the interrupt 3 deals of Poker are played. The point chips are used as the chips for the Poker game.
At the start of the game every player gets 1000 points worth of chips.
Every player gets 100 points worth of chips at the start of each interrupt, so even players who go All-In and lose can play again in the next interrupt.
The exact flavour of Poker is not specified.
