Since the Colts are in it, I'll actually care about the game. Usually I only care about the commercials. It's gonna be tough choosing whether to take a bathroom break during commercials or the game.

Watching to see in Nawlins can win one. I think it would be fitting. Manning son 1 wins Super Bowl (Colts), Manning son 2 wins Super Bowl (Giants), Manning father's franchise wins Super Bowl (Saints). It would be the perfect trifecta. Also I know that the oldest Manning boy doesn't play football but putting son 2 and 3 would just confuse people.

As grey traces of dawn tinge the eastern sky, the three travellers, men of Willowdale, emerge from the forest's shadow. Fording the river, they turn south, journeying into the dark and forbidding lands of The Necromancer...

After watching the Aints lose to my Bucs and stumble across the finish line against the Viqueens...AND watching Peyton Manning absolutely shred apart that vaunted Rex Ryan defense, I don't see how the Colts can lose. My prediction is Colts - 38, Saints - 24.

Haven't the Super Bowl commercials jumped the shark? Back in the nineties there were some amazing ones, but it's been a while since I've seen a memorable spot. Mostly, they try to blind you with special effects or pander to the gross-out crowd. Cleverness is rarely considered. It seems like it's more self-sustaining hype than anything really extraordinary.

So yes, I'm very much watching for the game. It promises to be a very good one and I'm hoping the Saints can finish their dream season with a Super Bowl win (although the Colts would be a very worthy champion).

On the other hand, EA's super bowl prediction has the Saints beating the Colts by a a 4 point margin with a combined score of 66.

The over-under is usually a little high on their prediction though, so I'd say that the current over-under is probably about right.

Haven't watched telly for years and years. I'll listen in on the radio but I'm not staying up for it. The NFC game was too much for me.

Peyton has owned Rex Ryan defenses for years so that was no surprise. I think it will be much closer.

When I was growing up I used to pull for the Saints. Then Houston moved to Tennessee--the state I was born in--so I switched over to them. My dad is in NO right now and sent me a couple of Saints shirts. However, I think I'm pulling for the Colts--Manning did play for the University of Tennessee after all..

The mighty Blott has a geeklist involving superbowl predictions; looks like fun. Anyone interested should cruise over there and check it out

Oh, and predictions have to be in by kickoff if you want to compete for a prize. So, yeah, 20 minutes...

I'm hoping it may be different this year. Reportedly some of the more traditional SB advertisers cutting back or stepping away. This may lead to some new blood to mix things up.

I read the post about new blood to mix things up as I see a spot featuring The Who during the halftime show...

...I wonder how many kids will be wondering 'What's a pinball wizard??"

Edit2: not a slam on The Who - first time in a long time I'm looking forward to the halftime show!

EDIT: hey, where's all the offense I was expecting to see??

Edit4: Oh, there it is....

And they weren't wrong this time.

Did they get roughly half of bettors to play each side of their line? Yep. Then they did their job.

So few people understand that the line and over/under have absolutely nothing to do with predicting the outcome. It's all about equalizing the betting on both sides of the line.

Correct. Given that the line moved very little during the week, my guess is the betting was evenly split.

I'll bet more people understand that than can readily spell "parimutuel."

Doh, I misspelled "than."
