What do abbreviations like ZZW and so on mean with regards to Magic?

Thanks!

These are abbreviations for editions. ZZW means Zendikar-Zendikar-Worldwake. Most often this is used to indicate which editions are played in limited.

So, to see if i am understanding this correctly, when Rise of the Eldrazi comes out, it would be ZWR?

Why is Zendikar abbreviated twice in this case?

ZZW is the most common current format for Drafting. Zendikar appears twice because you get 2 packs of Zendikar and 1 pack of Worldwake.

Once Rise of the Eldrazi comes out, it will actually be RRR. Unlike previous blocks, RoE is a large set. And when a new large set comes out the draft format always starts as three of that set.

As GDH said above, it is for defining a Limited (Draft or Sealed) environment. In the ZZW case you'll have 3 packs: Zendikar x2 and Worldwake x1.
