Hello all,

I was looking to compile a list of game stores in the twin cities. Here is what I have so far:

The Source
Air Traffic
Games by James
Tower
Phoenix
Dreamers
Armored Ogre
Chaos (might be Universe again)
Monster Den
Misty Mountain
Outpost 2000 & Beyond
village games
Unicorn (is this still around)(is closed)
Hub Hobby
Phantasy Hobbies
Fantasy Flight Games (only their games)

So... which ones did I miss?

John

Edit: Added two entries to the list

Yes, it's been gone for a few years now. There is a Hobby store in the same mall that carries board games/Magic, but it's only a small sellection and they don't offer play space.

Addresses and URLs would be helpful additions to this list.

I believe Phoenix is only online now, no physical store.

Phoenix still has a brick and mortar store. It's in Deephaven.

The great mapping project is pretty nice. I always use it when traveling.

The physical store is in Deephaven now (edge of Minnetonka).

I stop in there when I take the family to Turtles for dinner (awesome place) but the store kind of sucks. The board game selection blows and the employees have been less than friendly. They're not mean they just tend to ignore you.

Also Fantasy Flight Games is building that new store in Roseville. I think they will only sell their games but they have a huge gaming area. It opens later this month I think.

I was thinking that with the store names it would be easy enough to do a search on say google maps or other such tool.

Just in making my first list I talked with friends and found out about a couple that I didn't know about.

Now to find an excuse to end up in that part of townninja

Fantasy Flight Games will be opening their Event Center, 1975 Oakcrest Ave., (www.ffgec.com), on Feb. 20. Initially, they were only going to allow their games & their partners games to be played there, but caved-in to the feedback they received. Open gaming until 9 PM, members can stay late - 2 AM(?).
Aside from that, coffee shops that stay open later are another spot to get together & game. Maybe another theme for a thread?

Interesting that FFG caved into the complainers. I don't know if it'll be enough to keep the place running.

There really isn't anything to lose by doing so. They'll have more potential customers to try their games and buy them there.

Never said there was anything wrong with them allowing for other games... I'm just a bit surprised, and wondering if it will encourage people to show up and leech of the place for "free," as it's something they were trying to avoid by not allowing non-ffg open play.
