I am here visiting my brothers for a few weeks and am wondering if there are any good board game stores.
Thanks for the help

There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.

Wow, that Gaines family got around!
I was in two Gainesvilles within the span of a few hours once - Gainesville VA (so small you barely notice it as you drive by - but they have this place that has the best kabobs I've ever had) on the way to the airport, then flew home to Gainesville FL...

As a neighbor to the Gainesville, VA community and a recent board game convert, I've noted a certain absence of stores focused on the hobby. The Game Parlor in Chantilly (not so long a trip, maybe 30 minutes) has a pretty broad range of merchandise. Link to their website follows:

Good luck!

My favorite one is Mega Gaming and Comics:

There are a few others:
Vorpal games (http://forums.gvillegaming.org/index.php?topic=5)

One of the local text book stores, Florida Bookstore, sells boardgames as well (only at their volume II branch): http://www.flbookstore.com/

There is also a HobbyTown USA, with a pretty minimal selection, but they did have a Nexus Ops and Vegas Showdown on their shelves as of tonight:

Also, they game on Campus on Wednesday Nights. It's in the Reitz Union Food Court. Just go the the 2nd floor? NOt sure which floor they call it , but ask for Subway and Starbucks. OVer in the corner by Starbucks.

I few weeks ago, Vorpal announced board gaming on Thursday nights. Haven't been over there yet though.

If you are here for a while, you might want to make a road trip to Orlando. About 2 hours away. And then you can visit www.coolstuffinc.com

They have a small store front and do board gaming on Wednesdays and I think some Sundays. They also sell their stock at their OLGS prices.

And to make things nice and confusing, they are moving the Reitz Subways downstairs. So you may happen upon the new-about-to-open (literally in a day or two) Subways or the old one. But, asking for Starbucks is a sure ticket, you can't miss the gaming if you go there.

Hey - If you are in town tonight (Feb 10) come up to the Reitz and play a few. I will be there.

If you want a store that won't charge you to play at their tables you could go south about 40 minutes instead of north.
