I thought it might be fun to make predictions on how things will turn out in Vancouver. I wasn't going to put any geekgold on it or anything, though. We could just try to predict medal count and who places in various sports and what not...

I'll say...

Most Cumulative Medals: Canada, followed by Germany then US.
Most Golds: Canada
Most Silvers: Unites States
Most Bronze: Canada

Mens Hockey
Gold: Canada
Silver: Russia (Crosby v. Ovechkin final!)
Bronze: Sweden (def. US)

Women's Hockey
Gold: United States
Silver: Canada
Bronze: Slovakia (def. RUS)

I think that all right-thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am.

I predict an interminable and impenetrable opening ceremony, followed by a bit of sport (plus some Ice Dancing) then an interminable and impenetrable closing ceremony.

I will agree with you on the Gold/Silver but will go with Finland over Sweden for the bronze.

I guess I need to get my micros Olympic worthy now.

I'm looking forward to watching the Olympics in Canada again. Our television coverage is usually pretty good. In 2006 I was living in Seoul, watching the Olympics on the US Armed Forces Network. If I hear one more interview with Apolo Anton Ohno "musing" about "the perfect race" I'll churn my own butter.

They've been playing endless shows building up the hockey tournament this past week. I'm getting really excited. I'll predict gold for Canada, but it will be a tall order defeating the Russians.

I predict that not a lot of people genuinely care about the results but that the games will still draw a decent audience for the most part.

As grey traces of dawn tinge the eastern sky, the three travellers, men of Willowdale, emerge from the forest's shadow. Fording the river, they turn south, journeying into the dark and forbidding lands of The Necromancer...
