I love seeing new forum posts on the front page, but I would love it even more if I could choose which kinds of posts to see.

For example, I'm not that interested in the "game designers" forum postings, or postings to regional group forums that are not in my area.

You should be able to do that:

in the small menu bar, Account->Forum Filters

or here is the direct link: Forum Filters

It doesn't appear to be working in Firefox, at least not for me. I select the forum I want to banish, and then save, and it says it's updating my forum filters, but nothing changes. And yes, I've refreshed and cleared by cache, but the forum is still there.

Personally, I'd love to see a "thread filter" sometime.

I don't think the forum filters work on the front page, I seem to recall seeing a comment that this was due to the difficulty of generating different front page modules on the fly for each different user.

The forum filters do work on the lists such as this one

Yeah, I ended up just removing the entire module (multiple forum block) from my front page. Too bad about the other forums within that module, but them's the breaks sometimes.
