Played my first game last night with my buddy. It was just the two of us so we randomly divided the teams so we each had two teams in every group. Here's our results

Group C England 9 pts Slovenia 3 pts Algeria 3 pts USA 3 pts

Interestingly enough, we each had eight teams advance to the Round of 16. I had South Korea, England, Cameroon, Switzerland, France, Slovakia, New Zealand and Portugal. My friend had the rest, obviously.
Round of 16 South Africa 3 : South Korea 3 (South Africa wins in penalty shoot-out) England 2 : Serbia 1 Cameroon 4 : Slovakia 1 Brazil 3 : Switzerland 0 Nigeria 2 : France 2 (France wins in penalty shoot-out) Germany 4 : Slovenia 1 New Zealand 1 : Denmark 1 (Denmark wins in penalty shoot-out) Spain 5 : Portugal 1
Only three of my teams advanced to the Quarter-Finals while my friend had five.
Quarter-Finals South Africa 1: England 2 Cameroon 2 : Brazil 2 (Brazil wins in penalty shoot-out) France 3 : Germany 4 Denmark 1 : Spain 2
England is my only team to survive to the Semi-Finals.
Semi-Finals England 2 : Brazil 3 Germany 2 : Spain 4
3rd Place Play Off England 2 : Germany 2 (England wins in penalty shoot-out)
Final Brazil 3 : Spain 7
Spain wins 2010 World Cup! Spain waltzed right through the tournament, its closest games being the opening match of Group H in a close game with Switzerland but eeked out 4:3, and another close match against Denmark in the Quarter-Finals. Everything else was a blow-out.
A lot of my teams lost in PKs, but that's what happens to me in the board game, too.
