I wonder which Strategy Cards we should use for our first session.
I know that the old Imperial card must go, but what about the rest?
Which Strategy cards do you prefer to use?

I love the new Technology card. I haven't tried the other new ones, yet.

If the plan is to keep the base game strategies I would put in:

5 - Trade II
7 - Tech II
8 - Imperial II

My group likes warfare, but one may prefer to "nerf" it, then it is worthwhile to play with Warfare II as it is less powerful, but still quite flexible.

Note that the use of Imperial II assumes the use of the variant that the objective deck is revealed in the beginning of the game, and for us, it makes the game a lot better and faster

Ive used:

Tech II - allows you to delve deeper into your tech tree(that's always fun)

Imperial II - being able to apply for more than one objective in the stat
phase can be quite devastating. As well as the fact that it adds even more
contest to Mecatol Rex.

The variant Andre is speaking of is called "Age of Empires". It allows a full picture of the objectives in the game. It must be used with the Imperial II strat card.
