I would like to pre-order, but I wonder if anyone has any info regarding:
1. Is there a place to download all or a portion of the rules?
2. I've seen the AAR posted here. It's good. I would like, however a little more detail on how the combat works.
3. Is there a pic anywhere describing the numbers on the playing pieces.
4. Any updates on the progress?

Todd,

1. At the LnL website [http://www.locknloadgame.com/Section_Cat_Content_Detail.asp?...] there is a place to download the WaW rules from Blood and Bridges. Those are somewhat similar to the WSR rules [I have written blurbs about some of the differences] so they be a good starting place, although it is my understanding that there will be a couple of minor changes in them before the next WaW game. As mentioned in #4, the WSR rules are getting close to being done, but I imagine that if Mark is going to post them he will wait until they are finalized.

2. I will try to write up a bit more on this later, don't have time now. It may be worth looking at some of the AARs for the WaW games, and there is a great WaW tutorial by Christopher Ono [http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/422057/learning-the-worl...] that may give a bit of an idea how the general system works.

3. An explanation for the WaW counters, which basically use the same numbers, can be found at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/272552/world-at-war-eisen...

4. Mark or someone else would have to give more details on progress, the latest on the website [2/8/10] says "we... are getting very, very close with White Star Rising. The maps are almost complete, all the scenarios are designed and play tested, and Mark is giving them and the rules one last run through."

Checkout the Comsimworld folder for NaW. I answered most of your questions, and got some help for the parts I missed.

I think Ralph and Jim did a good job covering your second question so I defer to their posts over at CSW.
