Eggie and I will be spending extensive time on an airplane next week. While she has her Kindle to keep her company, I'm not much of a reader and will rely on my DS instead. Anyone have any recommendations? Here's what I already have so you'll have an idea of what I like.

New Super Mario Bros - I like platformers, but they don't hold my attention like they used to.

Puzzle Quest (Warlords and Galactrix)
Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes - I'm loving the puzzle game/RPG hybrids.

Planet Puzzle League

Castlevania (all DS games, plus two GBA versions)

Brain Age 1&2

Kirby Canvas Curse (it's fun, but only in very short bursts)

If you like the Mario RPG games, I've been playing the newest entry: Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. It's pretty fun.

My favorite so far has been Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, despite the fact that the story is dumb and annoying. I've also spent some quality time with Mario Kart and Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Yoshi's Island is another good platformer.

The Phantom Hourglass pissed me off. I grew board of sailing and wanted to throw my DS out the window the 37th time they had me go through the dungeon that the Hourglass was designed for.

I'm open, though I always prefer turn based combat to real time.

Then you probably won't like Spirit Tracks, either. It's different, but probably would frustrate you in similar ways.

If you DO like Phantom Hourglass though, you'll probably enjoy Spirit Tracks.

GTA: Chinatown Wars has been keeping me busy lately. And the remake of Super Mario 64 is quite good as well.

Fire Emblem series would probably fit you. There's also some Final Fantasy on the DS that is turnbased. Just stay away from Revenent wings. It's more Starcraft than traditional turnbased. Oh! FF Tactics A2 is pretty good. I love The World Ends with You but I don't know if you would like it as much as it is a fury of stylis moves and real time. Story line is fantastic though.

Elite Beat Agents is good for the rythem games. Depends if Eggie wants to dance.

And bottom line is that there's always Pokemon. Platnium is the way to go if you do get it. Though, Eggie would just imiate the pokemon sounds. So I don't know if you want that or not.

You should play some more Scribblenauts to predict the outcome of the Olympic events and post it to your blog. You should do that now.

I would love to see someone play Elite Beat Agents or Rhythm Heaven on an airplane. I'm sure all the other passengers would love it. I really like both of them, by the way.

My favorites on the DS have been

The Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney series
Advance Wars
Fire Emblem (which I like even more than Advance Wars)
Picross DS

If you like puzzles, then I highly recommend Professor Layton and the Curious Village, which contains over 120 puzzles.

Zookeeper and Point Blank are some very good games.

I also think you would like Prof Layton and Advance Wars - both are great games in my opinion.

Thanks folks... I ended up going with the newMario and Luigi.

I've played the first Professor Layton before. I enjoyed it, though I would've preferred it if they just had all the puzzles available at once instead of having me tap all over the screen trying to find them.

Avoided Advance Wars, Fire Emblem and FF Tactics because I'm just not a fan of strategy games like that. (That's eggie's bag.)

Advance Wars was kind of boring.

Sorry.
