As is with tradition in this new decade, a new scribe has been chosen. I excitedly take on the task. Not only have I been chosen but also a new king is ruling the land. He makes claims of great change for our small kingdom of three cities. He has sent word to surrounding lands to gather the people. He gives promises of feasts, fame & protection.
In the first year many come, so many that an entire new city is built of these foreigners. Our people work hard but must rely on the food we had in store to feed all of our people.
In the second year much food is produced. The king has decreed all must share in this work so we can lay back stores in case of famine or drought. Few goods are produced as the people follow the orders of the king. More workers arrive in hopes of bettering their life.
Our kingdom has expanded to five cities in the third year. After suffering from food shortages with so many to feed, the king has decreed we seek out those with knowledge of the methods of planting and harvesting, of keeping sheep and goats, and of storing surpluses of food. New knowledge comes to our kingdom teaching our people better methods. Now fewer laborers must be in the fields and the king has ordered more goods be produced in the upcoming year.
In the fourth year again food is in abundance. A new city is built at the end of the third year making housing for these new workers. These are good workers who produce many different and fine goods. Some even bring knowledge of making superior spearheads.
In the fifth year the king has decreed our people must begin the work of building a pyramid. People continue to arrive and expand our kingdom to seven cities. A fine quarry has been discovered where we are able to cut stone more quickly and efficiently.
With our kingdom so large, much of our resources must go to feeding our cities in the sixth year. We also produce many fine goods. The king sends out word to the surrounding kingdoms of our goods but still no one comes with money to purchase.
In the seventh year more workers arrive in hopes of bettering their lives. So many have arrived we are able to complete the Great Pyramid which declares what a mighty kingdom we are. We improve so much in quarrying that we need far fewer people in the production of stone. There are rumors of future invasions so the king has decreed these new people will be assigned to the task of building a Great Wall to protect our people.
Our food production remains high in the kingdom in our eighth year. Many more workers come so they too may share in our feasts. We build irrigation to protect from drought.
In our ninth year our king’s vision of protection from invasion is completed. In this year we complete a Great Wall. Hearing of our great accomplishments, stone masons from faraway lands come to our kingdom. We now have many areas of knowledge so that we can produce more efficiently.
In this tenth and final year of my duties as scribe, the king continues his focus of feeding our people, fulfilling promises made and bringing in workers to build more monuments. A temple is built so the people may have a place to worship. There are people from many different regions and they ask the king to allow them leaders to represent them to find favor with the king.
The king has decreed these have been good years bringing little hunger to all his people. He finds there are so many people from so many cultures that more focus must be placed on developing our kingdom but is pleased with the great monuments built to declaring his fame. Fortyseven major feats of accomplishment of our king have been added to the scrolls.
And so ends my duties as scribe.

Great report. Enjoy the "in character" approach.
