Are there any rule differences between the three editions of Dread Pirate? Or are the differences all in presentation & quality?

There are definite rule difference between Dread Pirate and Dread Pirate: Buccaneer's Revenge.

Thanks Coldwarrior, that helped! Now in your opinion what is the better value for the money? I do own Master & Commander so the metal versus plastic debate is not an issue.

There are actually four editions, counting Buccaneer's Revenge. Main difference between 2nd and 3rd DP editions is that in the 3rd edition, it states that the Dread Pirate doesn't get another turn if doubles are rolled, since s/he is already moving faster with three dice.
The other rule change is that if your treasure bag is empty, and you draw a card that directs you to pay treasure, you instead lose a turn..
