Figured I'd make a thread in which we can try to trade off those rejects from the Math Trade if anyone is interested. This is a thread for the Fire & Ice Convention Math Trade participants in which to arrange subsequent trades to be completed at the convention this weekend (Feb 26 - 28). Post what you have available, and maybe someone else will have an interest. To get things started, here is a list of what I have available still:

For Trade/Sale:

Carcassonne - Small Box Version with River II expansion included, punched but unplayed

Sorry Sliders - Open but unpunched/unplayed

Lord of the Rings Risk Triology Edition - complete and in great shape. opened and played

Blokus - complete, opened and played

Vapor's Gambit - complete and in shrink

Risk - open, played, complete

Beowulf: The Legend - open, played once, complete

I'd absolutely LOVE to get rid of most of this. Its just taking up space in my basement. If you have any interest in all, please let me know and hopefully we can work SOMETHING out.

EDITED: Added tentative prices: And if it seems that I priced an item a bit high, I am *not sure I want to sell it at all.

Still available from me:

StrataGem (NIS) $5
Masons (NIS) $20
Conflict $25

AND a few things more things I would be willing to trade, coming in trade...

Race For The Galaxy & Race For The Galaxy: The Gathering Storm *$30
Traders of Genoa *$45
Wizard $4
Set $4
Tongiaki $10
Hansa $20
and possibly Edel, Stein & Reich *$35

I also have Spearpoint 1943 coming in as a pre-order. I may be willing to trade that to someone I won't have to ship to. I'd want to get a value of $30 in trade for it: the pre-order price.

Oh, yeah, and Autographed BJ Thomas LPs, The Timelords LP, some vintage golf clubs, and pennants, LOL. I put them up on Craigslist... gulp

OK. Because 13 trades plus a couple of side trades just isn't enough and as I'm already carting what seems like an entire collection up to Fire & Ice anyway:

1835 - NIS
A Touch of Evil, The Supernatural Game
duck! duck! Go!
FITS
futbol de botao - two teams
Gene Pool
Gipsy King
High Society - NIS (this is incoming in the trade but...)
Imperial
Khet: The Laser Game
Krieg und Frieden
Le Havre with the Essen promo cards
Lifeboats
Lord of the Rings with 2 expansions
Market Mania
Morocco - prototype
Noble Celts
Paris Paris
Pick & Pack
Roborally
Rum & Pirates
Shear Panic
Torches & Pitchforks
Trireme
Tsuro
Vegas Showdown - NIS
Wooden Ships & Iron Men

Stargate SG1 DVDs
21 boxes of unopened packets of 1989 baseball cards

I'd probably sell any of these to someone heading up to F&I (or who has a proxy there) so feel free to make an offer on any of the above. Here are a few that I would like to move, just to make space, and the prices I would certainly sell them for:

Khet: The Laser Game - $15
Krieg und Frieden - $25
Market Mania (NIS) - $5
Noble Celts - $12
Roborally (NIS) - $30
Trireme - $16
Le Havre with the Essen promo cards - $65

But as I said, feel free to make trade or sale offers on any of the above.

I also won a pre-ordered copy of Spearpoint 1943 in the recent contest, and I would be glad to trade that to someone who would appreciate it more than I would.

That's something which I would prefer to trade locally, but I could be convinced to ship it. And, I get down to Woodridge, IL, and over to Madison once and awhile so there may be meet-up opportunities outside of the Milwaukee metro area...

It has been claimed. Sorry Colleen and Albert.

Back on the table!

This thread seems like an extremely inefficient attempt at a Math Trade. I understand that posting games for purchase is different, but didn't we already list the games we were willing to trade for the games that we wanted?

I don't know Larry. It's led to one side trade and a sale for me, and some other discussions. It's pretty much a distillation of what's left. There's certainly no harm in it and people can choose to ignore it if they don't see the point.

I hear what you're saying and don't entirely disagree. Working out trades by swapping emails has proven to be quite the challenge and has actually made me appreciate the math trade even more. I think people have a psychological tendency to value their stuff more and others as less than it's worth in general and I include myself in that statement.

On the other hand, with 730+ items with 48 being mine the matrix that was created for the math trade was on the unmanageable side. I'm sure I put at least 5 hours into it and even so neglected things on both sides. One item I'm receiving I didn't fully read and understand the decription of. And as another example, I know one trade that consists of the participant giving a game and in exchange getting the SAME game back along with a stack of other games (and yes, the two transactions are paired).

Plus the art of negotiation is almost a game in and of itself.

It's just fun to try and make deals in addition to the results. This is the old fashioned way which requires rolling up your sleeves and getting dirty, but it's fun for different reasons.

I'm working on two side deals, and it's great working with ally'all. meeple

I agree. I've made two follow-up trades so far (and am discussing other possibilities), just as I did last year, and one of those involves something I didn't even include in the event this year.

I have a side deal with Joe for his ASL Starter Kit for my BattleBall, so I'm not against side deals, but I have to laugh at all of the effort people are going through to pull together side trades.

Colleen - Lucky Loop for Hermagor? I'll throw in a sweetener or 10.

I'll likely be putting up some untraded bundles for auction at the event. It's fun and there was solid interest last year, and that paid off (literally).

Yeah, I'll probably throw 3-4 things in the auction too.

Having trade stock is nice, but there's less and less that I'm that interested in trading for and can actually acquire, so perhaps cash is a better option.

Tsuro is now spoken for.

FYI - if you want to trade for or buy any of my outstanding items above or the items that I have traded for, and want me to bring them up to F&I, please let me know before 10pm tonight.

I have some interest in a few other items but would prefer some solid offers, because I'm already going to have to make three trips to the car with the items that are traded, sold, to be auctioned or to be played at F&I.

Thanks...
