Hi,

I'm curious, is it possible to order card stock that has that texture that I find in a lot of fantasy flight games cards? Is it possible to buy such cards on a sheet where I can stick in my own home printer and say just throw pre-created jpgs on a card in some card design software and print? Would I need a laser printer?

Or would something like this have to be sent out to some printer somewhere...

Thanks.

Or, can you buy a textured laminate and achieve it that way?

You might be interested in the following thread :
Making Cards: You’ll never use your old method again.

They describe how to use linen stock to make playing cards.
If you use a varnish, you should have something that might not be exactly the same as FFG cards but should be very close.

lol, well sometimes it's that way...just curious though for when it's time I want to make a game and print my own cards for a good prototype.

But of course I'd probably do the illustrations myself between scanning my art and a blend of photoshop and illustrator.

Have you looked at Artscow? They have a deal right now for $2.99 / pack shipped. I have used them and they are fine. They are not FFG quality necessarily, but good nonetheless.
