One of the noted faults of this game is players forgetting the starting position of pieces, should a player change his/her mind about a particular movement. Since all the pieces may be moved each turn, it is easy to forget where a piece was positioned when it started and which pieces have moved.
Use white Battleship pegs to mark the spot a piece moved from.
Use red Battleship pegs to mark which pieces have moved during a turn.
Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But God does not take away life; instead, he devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from him. 2 Sam 14:14
That seems a fault of the gamers, not the game. It only becomes an issue if you allow takebacks.
There is an easier fix. Face pieces that have moved during the turn to toward the owning player. At the end of the turn, face all pieces away from the owning player. ------------- Oops!!! Hat tip to Joseph Ellis for this idea!
