Not trying to start a rumor here, but Boulder has been doing some pretty good clearance sales, haven't posted newly arrived games for a while and their games on hand is running lower than I've ever seen it. Anyone have some inside info?

Edit: My suspicion was confirmed.

I think they're good, but of course I could be wrong.

They did make this post a while back explaining that they're closing their Washington warehouse so probably most of the clearance stuff is coming out of there.

Your confusing Boards & Bits with Boulder.

I think that Boulder may be moving to a model where they get the latest releases, sell them fast and then move on to the next release. They definitely seem to be moving away from carrying some of everything, but they've been doing that for a while.

Sounds kind of like a joke? No disrespect to potters...but it does look like their stock is dwindling.

After twenty-something years of selling games, Jim is retiring to become a full-time potter. This will most likely be the end of Boulder Games. Each day our inventory gets thinner and the prices of remaining stock cut deeper.

As long as Jim is doing what he loves.. more power to him.

If he does leave, he will be missed.

Wow, that's pretty cool! The gaming community is losing out, but I truly hope that he is successful and enjoys the work.

My favorite online retailer. Can't say enough good things about Jim and I will be greatly saddened by his leaving the business but happy for him if he's moving onto something he truly enjoys.

Well it looks like I should quit waiting for him to get a few MMP titles in.

I wish him the best, and want to congratulate him on actively taking his life where he wants it to go.

That's a shame. Boulder Games is what got me back into gaming in the 90s after several years away from the hobby. I hope Jim enjoys his career change.

It's all your fault then!

One now has to wonder if B&B opening up the Ohio warehouse has had an effect on business... Boulder (and GameSurplus) were the two best ones for getting your orders fast here in the Northeast. Now B&B competes on that front too.

Jim's website definitely hasn't helped things, seems to be the #1 complaint we hear on this site

It's kind of like that scene at the beginning of Ghost, only without Demi Moore, or Patrick Swayze, or sex, or cameras, and preferrably with money making (though probably not as much as Demi Moore or Patrick Swayze...)

also fwiw, as of that update yesterday there were 1,096 items in stock (out of 2,350 in the catalog)... today there are only 1,058 in stock, 38 less.

also fwiw 344 of those 1,058 are already on sale.

It would be incredibly handy if the search results on the boulder games web site no longer included inventory that was out of stock. Since obviously, there will be no restock, it no longer makes sense to keep the items listed as part of the inventory.

Having the sale/no-sale item searches return only in stock items will make it much easier for the gaming community to buy off the remainder of his inventory.
