Is there a master Calandar of large events? .. Such a BGG.CON, GenCon, Essen, Gather of, etc.. I.e. the large events expected to attract several thousand people?

I'll chime in here and plead, beg, cajole, for a calendar.

This is why were are here. To game!
Please publish all calendars in one location... local game days, game nights, cons...

... and no, there isn't a calendar.

Raise your hand if you'd like to coordinate it. I tried to do one for the SF Bay area and I quickly found it to be way too much work. Can't even imagine trying to keep an international one current.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but would a google calendar suffice? Putting one together would not be terrible difficult and guild calendars can link to google calendars.

I could do this. It wouldn't be terrible difficult to keep track of most US conventions, but it would be necessary for international convention organizers or for smaller US convention organizers to e-mail me with details.

Google Calendar leaves room for location, details, etc.

You can also search by location.

For what it's worth:

Board Game Convention Calendar

I don't have the GeekGold to start up a sort of "Convention" Guild at the moment, but if someone does set that up, we could link to this calendar.

Added to my calendars.

Who is managing that?

The calendar is awesome. Keep up the great work!

For what it's worth, if you can start the week on Monday, the calendar will flow much better since most of the events flow from Friday'ish to Sunday.

Does it have to be on this site or in actual "calendar" form? I stumbled across the listing (always kept in chonological order, apparently) at

http://www.boardgamenews.com/index.php/boardgamenews/C47/

a few months back myself, and it includes WAY more than I will ever be able to attend.

From checking back with it infrequently since that time, they seem to update it every few weeks, dropping off completed ones and adding in new ones whose dates have apparently been firmed up. The bigger ones have to decide that sooner so will be listed many months before, while I have seen at least one that was regional in my area that seemed to pop up with less than a month to plan before it was held.

I can start it on Monday, but with the base link (unless it is embedded onto a website) I have to change my own calendar formatting to start on Monday. I did that, and will see if I can get used to it

I should take this point to thank the aforementioned BoardGameNews.Com link (and Eric Martin), as that is where I got the majority of the convention information.
