Played By: Alfonzo Smith Jonathan Degann Mike Meckler Winton Lemoine

In this game, teams bid down, starting from 25, how many words they think it will take to communicate to their partners the 5 words appearing on a card. Winton had played this before, but was disappointed because he had found that it was typically possible to run through a card in just 7 or 8 words, making the bidding system meaningless. His argument was that you could give a clue, and your teammates could just keep shouting synonyms until they got it. So he proposed a variant - for each clue word you give, your team may take only one guess.

Little did any of us know that, evidently, the 2nd edition words are ALOT harder than those in the 1st edition. Even with bids of 18+, it took about six rounds before anyone was able to complete their card in 60 seconds! It became a joke - the best way to score a point was to let the OTHER team take the challenge.

Then things started to kick in for Alfonzo and Winton, and they won round after round until they were a point away from winning. They were continually making their bids; we kept losing ours. We scored only one more point before Al and Winton shut us down - and we never completed a SINGLE card.

Next time, I want to play by the published rules which allow you to shout as many guesses as you like.
Winner(s): Mike M., Winton L.
