Okay so I have a large budget to grow my game collection. The game I'm postive I'm getting is Zombie State: Diplomacy of the Dead. There are a few others and I want some recommendations.

I'm looking for some games that I can play with my neighbors and family. The reason I say this is I really enjoy war games but never play them because my family plays 'nice', my wife's family HAS to play light games, my neighbors like lighter games and my other neighbors we play Battlestar Galatica A LOT!. Also games I can play with my wife would be nice with just the two of us.

I'm thinking the best way to do this is go over what games I enjoy and what games each group enjoys. Then I will list some games I'm thinking about.

ME

More Favorite Down. (That I actually play. Risk 2240 would top my list but I never play it, same with Samuri Swords).

Battlestar Galatica
San Juan
Thunderstone
Powergrid
Cities and Knights
Ticket To Ride (Europe)
Pillars of the Earth
Kingsburg
Zooloretto
Finca
Agricola
Statego

Wife
Othello
Scabble
Risk
San Juan
Finca
Battlestar Galatica
Bonanza
Blokus
Powergrid

Family

----------------------------------------

So here is my thoughts.

Diplomancy of the Dead (for sure)

Shadows Over Camelot
Race for the Galaxy
Dominion
Citadels
Cash and Guns
Through the Ages
Le Havre (might be too much stategy)
Stone Age
Pandemic (low interest)
Endevor
Summoner Wars (very interested)
In the Year of the Dragon
Cosmic Encounter
Haceinda
At the Gates of Loyang
Tobago
Ghost Stories
Mr. Jack
Endeavor
Santiago
World Without End
Thunderstone
Letter of Marque
Imperial 2030
Taluva
Condottiere

--------------------------------------------

I've played Agricola and I find it frustrating. Any games similar I have a slight fear of. Agricola as a solo play game is awesome. I just find it difficult to accept the game when I'm in the 4th year and still struggling to not feed my people or not able to get some of everything. I like games where I feel I'm making progress and not just tryign to collect a little bit of everything. Games I can specalize and win at that specalization.

I enjoy games that have different stategies to win. As I stated before I hate games that make you do some of everything to be really successful unless it's actually easier to get everything.

Anyways any opinions would be great. Maybe some suggestions for games I'm overlooking.

Imperial 2030 or the original Imperial.

It's got some interesting conflict without feeling like it.

Shorter
Taluva has nice pieces, is easy to learn, plays fairly quickly, has conflict without player elimination.

Edit: And you had your eyes on Tobago already, good pick.
Glory to Rome is a game similar to San Juan and Race for the Galaxy.

Longer
I think Imperial 2030 is a nice pick here.
You picked Through the ages which sounds good.
Moving up in complexity from Ticket to Ride you can go through Railroads of the world to Steam to Age of Steam and 18xx series.

Pandemic you have to move to a have to have, especially with the diverse group that you have. It is a great coop game. i have yet to play with anyone who didn't love it. It is simple to teach and has great replayability. Add it to your "getting list" you won't be sorry.
