I have heard good things about both these games and I am interested in getting into one of them. Which one is the better game?

Also is there a free to play place online, (ie: I know I can play warhammer 40k on Vassal).

I haven't played MP, but WoW minis is a very nice game and requires a very small buy-in to play full games (a starter and a a booster or two). The balance is very good, especially for a CMG.

Both games are playable on Vassal.

MP is deep and intense and has a learning curve. But its an incredible game system.

WoW gets up and playing real fast, plays real fast.

Yuo're talking an ice cream sundae vs bubble gum. Each serves its own purpose, you have to decide which you want.
