One of the things I wished that anima did was offer a little more bang for it's buck in terms of player interaction, decision making, and flexibility. Since advantage cards come in such abundance and there was already the precedence set for using them as an alternate currency for other effects, it seemed to make sense to me for their use to be expanded to try to achieve these effects.
ie) spin a character and discard an advantage card
Ki: enemy party loses 2 atk (maybe this should be +2 to another party's combat for fun).
Magic: enemy creature gains 2 combat
Trickery: Spin a character.
Plot: reduce a party's speed by 3 for the rest of the round (this should be able to change the order of who goes first, second, etc) .
OR roll a 4+, +/-1 an other party's exploration roll
OR additional +1 atk & speed on a rest.
this could be made more restrictive by saying that character must have the symbol to use a corresponding card.
You may have to have rules like only one party may use a card in this way per turn. Other party's may commit a card each in this manner.
Conversely, you could just discard ANY advantage card to access one of these abilities, but that might be too easy.
This conversion should be pretty easy and hopefully allow for a more interactive (backstabby?), strategic game.
