Obviously, the sign in the image is absurd... but so can the same be said of the use of out of context Bible quotes to defend most situations. With this specific quote the Pharisees wanted Jesus to be a revolutionary against Rome, to start a "tea party" of his own (because they wanted him to become an enemy of Rome). He denied them by saying give Rome what they want, it has nothing to do with God as long as we are not required to actually worship Caesar. What it comes down to is less about taxes and more about simply obeying the law of the land as long as it does not violate God. It also has time and place and Judea subjugation by Rome attached to it... when I read that quote I really don't see it having much to do with taxes. Again, the sign is a joke, God probably has no opinion on taxes and I am sure we could dig up some other quotes to make an argument to the fact that he does.

An ash I know, Yggdrasil its name. With water white is the great tree wet; thence come the dews that fall in the dales. Green by Urth's well does it ever grow.
