I can't explain it, but after surfing for a while on boardgamegeek, I lose all the pictures. I still can see all the text, but all the pictures have disappeared.
If I browse then to another site, I have the same problem.
The only thing that helps, is closing internet explorer (6 with XP) and start all over again. No problem whatsoever until I surf on boardgamegeek. After a while...
It's only with this site.
Anyone having the same problem?

Café Race is a race game set in a business office. The players take the role of office workers going upstairs to the first floor to get a cup of coffee who then improvise a race while they are going back downstairs… with a cup full of coffee.

I had the same problem several monhts ago. I do anything and the problem was solved by itself.

Now I'm thinking that I only had this problem when a surf BGG from the work (a shared connection to the Internet). In my house (one connection only for myself) it works perfectly...

Yes, I know, it is a little help... but I can't do more.

Funny you should mention that becasue I have exactly the same problem. I put it down to the computers/server at work and take it as a message I should be doing something other than surfing the net and looking at boardgames...

I am having the problem you describe. I didn't think to link it to boardgamegeek though. The previous writer thought about the severs at thier workplace but I am browsing at home so not much conflict between systems. Any idea whats going on?

So far we have Belgium, Spain, Uk and Australian. So it can be something local.
I also use my pc at home, so it's indeed not a server-thing.
I regularly have a slow connection to the geek, but I think that's a problem for everyone.

I meant: it cannot be something local of course.

You others with the problem, are you also running IE6/XP or something else?

(I haven't seen the problem, but then I'm running Mozilla under Linux.)

If the problem is limited to IE6 it can easily be solved by upgrading to Mozilla. laugh Also lots of new features in the bargain.

I had the problem here at work for about a year. There was nothing I could do (can't just go loading a different browser onto the employer's network). Eventually, the problem went away (I'm assuming that somewhere in there, my company upgraded to a newer version of IE).

Delete Temporary Internet Files
In IE, do Tools/Internet-Options/Delete-Files. This may take several minutes if you have several gigabytes of files. This is a very common problem that causes strange behavior viewing pages.

I'm sure this is not the problem. It occurs only with Boardgamegeek (as far as I know) and it deleting temp-files doesn't solve the problem.

Back when I used IE6 I would experience the same problem, and could solve it using ekted's method.

Then I saw the light, switched to Mozilla Firefox and never had the problem (or a host of others) again.

There are two easy ways to fix this:

1. Close out IE6 and reopen it. If you go back to same page that caused the problem, though, it will just happen again. I've also noticed that this problem comes and goes; sometimes, I get the image lock problem on a particular page, but other times I don't.

2. Use a browser other than IE6.

My work has just put a block on boardgamegeek.com. Oh well guess I'll just have to waste time some other way.
