We've decided to play all the missions from the Ultimate Mission books. And what better motivation then to write session reports of all these missions.
Some of these missions are rather boring, just one on one dice rolling. But others are really fun to play! Rebel Storm is split up into the three movies, starting with a New Hope. The first mission is the Resue on Ralltiir. Let's start...
Rebel Storm Mission IV #01 Resue on Ralltiir
Three weeks before the Battle of Yavin, the Tantive IV arrives on the planet Ralltiir, carrying Princess Leia Organa, the youthful senator of Alderaan. Though apparently a consular ship, the Tantive IV is carrying medical supllies and technical equipment meant for the rebel forces on Ralltiir. Leia arrives, only to learn that imperial troops have put the entire planet under martial law. As Princess Leia fends off the efforts of Lord Tion to search the Tantive IV, Ralltiir Rebels create a diversion, allowing one of them to deliver a piece of all-important intelligence to the princess...

The Tantive IV crew sets up at the west end of the battle grid.
The Ralltiir rebels set up at the east end of the battle grid.
Both Imperial squads set up in the circular storage building.

Victory Conditions Rebels
Deliver the message: One of the Raaltiir rebels must carry the coded information about the Death Star to the east end of the battle Grid.
Each of the Ralltiir rebel characters has a face down tile and only one tile has the Death Star information.If this character is defeated, another Rebel character can pick up the plans. If an imperial character pick ups the Death Star information, the rebels lose this mission.
Get to the Tative IV: Princess Leia and the Death Star information must escape to the Tantive IV by existing the west end of the battle grid.
Victory Conditions Empire
Capture the Death Star plans: The Imperial player must capture the Death Star plans from the Rebels and prevent the rebels from recapturing them.
Protect Princess Leia: If Princess Leia is defeated, the Imperial player loses the mission. (However, normal rules as nearest target must be applied.)
I (Djali) played the rebels and RioT played the Imperial squads.
We used the "destroyed" tokens as false plans, and a 50 hit point token as the Death Star information. These tokens were hidden underneath the characters and I set them up nicely in a row at the east end. As if they were standing on the startline of a marathon.
I had first initiative roll, so I started running with my Ralltiir Rebels. RioT quickly killed one, but lucky for me, the wrong one.
RioT managed to kill 4 of my Ralltiir rebels rather quickly, but it was the 5th still running rebel who carried the plans. (Since the Elite rebels look the same as some regular rebels and they were all close together, we then revealed the plans.) I almost got to the west end of the battle grid and quoted the famous "Almost there..."
But RioT was closing in. The next round he won the initiative roll and with his Imperial Office he killed the Ralltiir rebel with one shot. The Death Star plans were in the open, for anyone to grab...
And luckily, one stormtrooper was standing close enough to run and capture the plans.

Nice report with some great pics.
We've considered playing these missions for some time but thought they seemed a bit bland. But I'll be watching your reports to see how they turn out. It might make me want to try them, opposed to just buying the books for the maps like I did.
