Is the Henry Beaufort character meant to represent Cardinal Beaufort, in which case it seems rather strange to have a clergyman commanding longbowmen.

The list of Wiki links provided elsewhere takes me to John Beaufort, Duke of Somerset, who would seem to be more appropriate.

There are a couple of other leaders whose identity is open to question and I was wondering if there was a definitive list as I'm compiling an armoury of leaders to post and this needs clear identification.

I don't know if it counts as a "definitive" list, but the MMP in-house magazine Operations had a 10-page article in Special Issue #1 that gave very brief outlines for the leaders from Warriors of God. (A few of the leaders are not given any description, however.)

According to this article, Henry Beaufort is the Cardinal.

Edit: I thought that birth/death years were provided in the article, but those are actually the in-game years for the turn that leader arrives on (to help identify the counter). Oops!

He's John Beaufort, 1st Earl of Somerset.

If you look in the files section, I uploaded a document titled "Warriors of God Family Trees" which shows the relationships of all of the counters in the two scenarios of the game. The names in the PDF document are hot linked to their wikipedia entries. Some of them took quite a bit of sleuthing but I think they are all correct.

Just for your convenience John Beauforts entry will lead you to here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Beaufort,_1st_Earl_of_Some...

Cheers!

Thanks, I have seen your file. But aren't the dates you give those for Cardinal Henry Beaufort?

Or are you giving some suggestions here for who should be in the game rather than the official roster?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Beaufort

Incidentally the links to the various Dukes of Orleans are broken, as is that tio William Longspee.

There are one or two questions I still have over identities, I'll post these here and maybe you can clear them up for me.

Thibaut de Blois:
He seems to have have lived a different life to the man in the link, is this perhaps one of the Counts of Champagne rather than the English cleric on Wiki?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Count_of_Champagne

Huges le Blanc:
If this is Hugh "le Brun" of Lusignan, Count of la Marche, why is he called "le Blanc", and what is he doing in Scotland?

Raymund-Roger & Raimund de Roger:
Some confusion over these two; three candidates:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_Roger_Trencavel

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_Roger

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_VII_of_Toulouse

but I can find no connection with Burgundy for any of them!

Pierre le Prevost:
I cannot identify at all (link is broken)

I'll keep editing with more queries, and also let you know when the roll of arms is posted.

I'm presently working on:

A "Grand Scenario" running to 1500 with all the "gap years" filled in,

A "Warriors of the Roses" version 1451-1500

and a "Warriors of Odin" version 801-1100

Hmm, good questions. I'll have to look into them. When I posted, all of the links worked, I wonder if the wikipedia entries have been changed. I'll try to look at it this weekend.

Suggested correction:

Eudes of Burgundy is surely:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eudes_III,_Duke_of_Burgundy

Working on

Grand Scenario - 1101-1500

and the prequal

Vikings verus Anglo-Saxons 801-1000

Still can't work out the Raymond-Rogers though...

Pierre de Prevost is evidently:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_de_Preaux

Hugues "le Blanc" must be a mistake for Hugh "le Brun", but again why is he placed in Scotland for a home?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_IX_of_Lusignan

For Henri & Thibaut of Blois I prefer:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_I_of_Champagne

and
