With Treefrog we will be switching to a new production model. Rather than producing 1500 copies of a title and then licensing it we will now be retaining the rights to future titles and reprinting if demand allows it. The first print run will normally be around 3000 units. Of these 1000 will be converted to a limited edition by the replacement of some components by custom made wooden pieces. These copies will be signed and numbered. The limited edition copies will only be available from Treefrog, they will not be available in shops.

I am wondering other then the box being signed and numbered, what else will be different between the limited edition and the edition available in shops?

Wooden player counters or money?

Michael

From the rules online

Quote:
In the limited edition version you will have wooden money instead of plastic and twelve wooden train pieces in each of the five player colours. Please use the train pieces instead of the cardboard railway counters.

Spot on. The limited edition versions will be essentially the same as the standard one but will in addition be signed and numbered, include wooden money (with the values printed on) and wooden trains (of a new design) to mark railway ownership.

Future limited edition versions of Treefrog games will all have some additional components. Exactly what they will be is largely dependent on what makes sense in terms of the game and what is possible financially.

Are the "normal" Rail-counter included in the limited edition, or
are they replaced by the wooden tokens?

Hammy (I think) posted elsewhere: the limited edition is simply the basic game + number + signature + wooden bits ... no replacements, just extras.
